GRANT WILSON TO DEPART FROM SYFY’S GHOST HUNTERS
New York, NY – February 16, 2012 – As announced on last night’s episode, Grant Wilson, co-lead investigator of Syfy’s hit reality series Ghost Hunters,
will be departing the show. His last episode will air Wednesday, May
16 @ 9pm, and he will wrap production at some point next month.
Of the departure, Wilson said, “It is with mixed emotion that I am announcing my departure from the cast of Ghost Hunters.
While paranormal investigating has always been and will remain a
passion for me, after enjoying nearly eight successful seasons on
television, I have made the decision to leave the series in order to
focus on other aspects of my personal life.
I will deeply miss
working with Jason and the rest of the dedicated investigators and crew
that have become like family, and I wish them all the best as they
continue to follow their passion and realize the vision of TAPS.
I will also miss interacting with our wonderful fans worldwide. You are all at the heart of what we do on Ghost Hunters, and I’m grateful to have gotten to know many of you over the years.
Thank you to Syfy and
Pilgrim Studios for giving me the opportunity to do what I love for
nearly eight years, and for supporting this difficult decision.”
Statement from Jason Hawes, TAPS Co-Founder & Co-Lead Investigator, Ghost Hunters:
“When
Grant and I founded TAPS nearly 20 years ago, we never imagined that we
would be able to make such an impact just by doing what we enjoy every
day. I will miss working with Grant on a daily basis, and am indebted
to the level of dedication and expertise he has brought to our field.
I
can’t imagine having a better partner through it all – both on the show
and off. Grant and I, along with our spouses and children, are all
like one big family. While I fully support his decision to move on from
the series, this longtime friendship - as well as our business
partnership - will continue off-camera for years to come."
Statement from Mark Stern, President, Syfy Original Content and Co-Head, Universal Cable Productions:
“Grant has been an integral part of a show that has become the standard-bearer for paranormal investigation. The fact that Ghost Hunters is
still going strong in its eighth season is a testament to Grant’s
amazing partnership with Jason and their clear connection to the
audience. We respect and support this difficult decision that Grant has
made, and wish him all the best in his new endeavors. The hard work,
integrity, and compassion that he has consistently brought to his work
won’t be easily replaced, but this successful series will find a way to
reshape itself as it moves forward.”
Statement from Craig Piligian, Executive Producer, Pilgrim Studios:
“It’s been a great eight seasons so far for Ghost Hunters, and a terrific partnership between Pilgrim Studios and TAPS. We wish our good friend Grant Wilson all the best.
On Wednesday nights at 9pm for over seven years, Ghost Hunters has
featured spine-tingling cases from the files of TAPS (The Atlantic
Paranormal Society) - led by Rhode Island plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant
Wilson. Since its 2004 premiere, the show has spawned two
spin-offs (with over 200 episodes among the three series), cementing its
place as the #1 paranormal franchise in cable. Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International are produced in association with Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Studios (Dirty Jobs, The Ultimate Fighter, Top Shot). Piligian and Thomas Thayer, along with Mike Nichols and Alan David, serve as executive producers.

By the mid-1990s, Travis saw a decline in his chart success. In 1997, he left Warner Bros. Records for DreamWorks Records and changed his musical focus to gospel music. Although the career shift produced only one more number one country hit "Three Wooden Crosses", Travis went on to earn several Dove awards, including Album of the Year three times. In addition to his singing career, Travis pursued an acting career, appearing in numerous films and television series, including The Rainmaker (1997) with Matt Damon, Texas Rangers (2001) with James Van Der Beek, and seven episodes of the Touched by an Angel television series. Travis has sold over 25 million records, and has earned 22 number one hits, 6 number one albums, 6 Grammy awards, 6 CMA awards, 9 ACM awards, 10 AMA awards, 7 Dove awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.[1][2][3]

[edit] Early years
Randy Bruce Traywick was born on May 4, 1959 in Marshville, North Carolina,[1][4] the second of six children of Bobbie (née Tucker), a textile factory worker, and Harold Traywick, a horse breeder, turkey farmer, substitute school teacher, and construction business owner.[5][6] He is of Cornish English descent on his father's side, with the family name originally spelled Traweek.[7] He is a descendant of Cornish immigrant Robarde Traweek,[8] whose son Robert was born in 1700 in Stafford County, Virginia and died in 1788 in Onslow County, North Carolina, establishing the North Carolinian roots of the Traywick family.Randy and his brother Ricky were encouraged to pursue their musical talents by their father, who was a fan of Hank Williams, George Jones, and Lefty Frizzell. In 1967, at the age of 8, Randy began playing guitar. Two years later, he and his brother began performing at local clubs and talent contests, calling themselves the Traywick Brothers.[1] Randy often fought with his father and soon dropped out of high school.[9] He became a juvenile delinquent and was arrested for various offenses, including auto theft and burglary. Travis has since voiced regret for his past misdeeds.[10]
In 1975, while his brother was serving time in jail for a high-speed car chase, Randy won a talent contest at a nightclub, Country City USA, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The club's owner, Elizabeth "Lib" Hatcher, took an interest in the young singer, hired him as a cook, and gave him regular singing jobs at the club.[6] During the late 1970s, Randy worked and sang at Country City USA. Still in his late teens, Travis had one last encounter with the law. At his hearing, the judge told Travis that if he ever saw the singer back in his court, he should be prepared to go to jail for a long time. Travis was released into the guardianship of Hatcher, who also became his manager. The two began to focus on his career full time.[1]
In 1978, he recorded a self-titled album, Randy Traywick, for Paula Records. The following year, he released two unsuccessful singles, "She's My Woman" and "Dreamin'". Travis moved in with Hatcher, which put further strain on her already fragile marriage. She eventually left her husband and, in 1982, she and Travis moved to Nashville, Tennessee. It was during this time that an unlikely romance began to form between the two. Travis would later comment, "I think we discovered how much we needed each other."[11] He and Hatcher eventually came forward with their relationship and were married in a private ceremony in 1991.[11] They divorced on October 29, 2010 after a 19-year marriage. Despite the divorce, their 34-year business relationship continues.[12]
[edit] Music career
During the early 1980s, Travis was rejected by every major record label in Nashville. His early demo tapes were criticized by record executives as being "too country." To support them, Hatcher took a job as manager of a nightclub, The Nashville Palace, and hired Travis as a cook and singer.[6] In 1982, Travis recorded an independent album Live at the Nashville Palace, and Hatcher used the album to secure a deal with Warner Bros. Records. As part of the contract, label executives insisted they keep their romance a secret, and changed his stage name from Randy Ray to Randy Travis.[11] In 1985, Warner Bros. Records released the single "On the Other Hand" which peaked at #67 on the country charts. His next single, "1982", became a Top 10 hit single. In 1986, Warner Bros. re-released "On the Other Hand", which became Travis' first number one hit.His debut album, Storms of Life, went on to sell more than 4 million copies. In the late 1980s he had a string of hits, including "No Place Like Home" and "Diggin' Up Bones". A song from his second Warner Brothers album Always and Forever titled "Forever and Ever, Amen" arguably launched the neo-traditionalist country era. For two years in a row, Travis won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance, for the albums Always & Forever in 1988, and for Old 8x10 in 1989. He also won the ACM award for Best Country Newcomer in 1986.[4] Off the success of his first two albums, Old 8x10 was certified platinum, and[6] Always and Forever was number one for 43 weeks.
In 1991 Travis took part in Voices That Care, a multi-artist project that featured other top names in music for a one-off single to raise money for the allied troops in the Gulf War. The project included fellow singers Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers and Kathy Mattea. In addition, Travis recorded the patriotic song "Point of Light" in response to the Thousand points of light program initiated by President George H.W. Bush. Its release prompted New York freelance writer Lina Accurso to file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission charging that the single qualified as political advertising for since Bush media consultant Roger Ailes produced the song's video and White House publicist Sig Rogich, was credited as a co-writer. The FEC rejected the complaint, ruling that the song and video "neither expressly advocate the election of, nor solicit contributions on behalf of, Mr. Bush."[13]
In 1992, Travis took a break from music to concentrate on acting and landed roles in several Western-genre films. He returned to recording with the 1994 album This Is Me and the hit single "Whisper My Name". Three years later, Travis parted ways with Warner Brothers and signed with DreamWorks Nashville. He recorded You and You Alone, which produced the top 10 hits "Out of My Bones", "The Hole" and "Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man".
[edit] Gospel years
After the 1999 release of A Man Ain't Made of Stone, Travis shifted away from mainstream country and focused on Gospel. During this time, he recorded the albums Inspirational Journey (2000), Rise and Shine (2002), and Worship & Faith (2003). The single "Three Wooden Crosses" from the Rise and Shine album reached No. 1 and won the CMA song of the year in 2003. That same year, Travis ranked #13 on CMT's 40 Greatest Men of Country Music. Additionally, he continued to act in film and television; he appeared in several episodes and in the series finale of Touched by an Angel.[14] His album, Passing Through, was released in November 2004. It combined the country music of his earlier years, with the gospel influences from his latest albums. After the release of Glory Train: Songs of Faith, Worship, and Praise in 2005 and the Christmas album Songs of the Season in 2007, Travis released his brand new single "Faith in You" as a free download from his official website. It heralded the July 2008 release of his album, Around the Bend, his first collection of mainly secular recordings in nearly a decade. In February 2009, Travis' "I Told You So" was released as a single by Carrie Underwood, who had recorded the song for her 2007 album Carnival Ride. The next month, radio stations were sent a duet version of the song, featuring Randy Travis on vocals. From then, he was credited with Underwood on the single, which peaked at No. 2 on the Country charts and No. 9 on the U.S. Hot 100. That month, Travis released the 2 disc greatest hits compilation I Told You So: The Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis. In June 2011, he unveiled his latest album, Anniversary Celebration.
On February 6th, 2012 Travis was arrested in Sanger, Texas, early Monday morning for public intoxication. According to the Sheriff's Office, Travis was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday and taken to the Denton, Texas, county jail.

Financing a mortgage in Bali
In the past financing for a mortgage was difficult for a foreigner in order to buy property, even though expats make an attractive financial proposition. The stumbling block was that the title deed was in the name of an Indonesian, rather than the person applying for the mortgage.
The fact that a foreigner cannot obtain a Hak Milik (freehold title) for land in Indonesia (despite what some real estate companies may lead you to believe), the name of a local ‘nominee’ had to be on the title document. This arrangement made Indonesian banks uncomfortable (do they know something we don’t!!!).
The introduction of Hak Pakai Atas Hak Milik (right of use above freehold land) is one way that foreigners can go about owning land in Bali and elsewhere in Indonesia. Hak Pakai (right of use) is a certificate that is valid for 25 years extendable up to 100 years. This is viewed by some people as the best solution for foreigners. With this structure the foreigner’s name is on the title deed and is eligible for a mortgage. Expats should have no trouble in securing a mortgage in this manner.
One company that is involved in this sort of structure is Asia Property Finance Management (APFM), that was set up to address the needs of expatriates in need on mortgage finance. APFM can arrange a Indonesian Property Loan (IPL) and working with an Indonesian bank, can also offer a range of mortgage currencies and associated interest rates offerings a degree of choice.
• Features of the IPL include:
• Available in $US, $AU, and rp.
• Minimum loan is $12,000 and maximum $450,000
• The maximum loan amount that can be borrowed is 60% of the property’s latest valuation: a 40% deposit is required.
• Maximum loan period is 1o years for principal and interest
• Interest rates calculated at a variable rate, based on Cost of Funds for the currency of the loan, and a margin.
• Eligibility
• IPL is available to non-Indonesian citizens (foreigners) residing in Indonesia, subject to Bank approval.
• Only existing residential dwellings in Indonesia such as house with land, apartment will be considered.
• Loan can only be granted if the property is registered in borrowers’ name “Hak Pakai” or Title to Use the Land, with a Building Permit (or Ijin Mendirikan Bangunan – IMB) attached to the certificate.
• Borrowers can only apply for one loan as foreigners are only allowed to own one Indonesian based property.
• You must be able to demonstrate your ability to meet all your financial commitments, such as rent, living expenses, and loan repayments. The ability to repay the loan will be determined for each borrower and is dependent on their individual financial circumstances and the value of the security.
Affordable Housing for Middle to Lower Income Group In Indonesia
Summary
In 1974, Indonesian government launched its residential development plan. In order to support its policy, as State Owned Corporations, Bank Tabungan Negara (or Bank BTN) was appointed as residential funding institution for middle-lower income people. Based on the decree from Minister of Financial home ownership loan was launched. Since that day, Bank BTN provide subsidized home ownership loan for all Indonesian middle lower income community and also middle up home ownership. At present day Bank BTN has formulated main objective to give outstanding services in housing finance and its related industry, and also providing other products and banking services. Home loan becoming the core business of Bank BTN, by the end of 2006 it’s reached by 91% of Loan portfolio, and the rest are located as different types of loan. By the end of 2007 Bank BTN have been financing subsidized home loan more than 1.939.537 units (Retail customer) and disbursing for about Rp.20.678,48 million (equals to USD 2.248 million).
Key Dates
There are no particular dates for such main mission to be conducted. In order to conduct all corporate objection and initiatives, the home loan was disbursed all the time during office hours. Any customer may come to the Branch Office to consult with the customer service concerning their needs about housing finance at any time. The customer may also come to our partners (housing developer) who provide the housing project. Our partners will direct them to Bank Tabungan Negara branch office and give the customer with supported document or information that may needed in home loan application documentation. But the key dates for national housing movement started since
• 1974 when the government assigned Bank as residential funding institution for middle-lower income people
• 2007 When the Bank initiates the 2007 Annual Corporate planning and develop Strategic Corporate Planning 2008-2012.
Narrative
SITUATION BEFORE THE INITIATIVE BEGAN
Prior to 1974, there was no home loan for Indonesian people. Indonesian people who wish to build a residential house, must take consumption loan from the bank or saving some money. There was no special loan addressed for home ownership even a subsidized credit scheme/home loan for middle to lower income group. There was also no housing/property developers established to provide affordable housing project. Only people who have a good financial condition can build an affordable house.
ESTABLISHMENT OF PRIORITIES
Based on the year 2007 Bank Tabungan Negara Corporate Planning, with regard to corporate main objections in housing loan, the top list priorities formulated need to be conducted as follows:
• New credit line Rp.7.403,00 billion.
• Integrate marketing program campaign to improve prospect customer awareness towards Bank Tabungan Negara existing as a Bank who serves the customer with the needs for housing by applying one stop banking strategy in housing program.
• Improving the loan delivery service processes.
• Improving human resources quality in loan services delivery.
• Improving the competitive advantage of the loan product line.
• Improving loan documentation administration.
FORMULATION OF OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIES
Based on the year 2007 Corporate Planning the management has formulated the main objectives for loan activities as follows:
• Improving loan services
• Maintain the loan quality
• Evaluating and develop the line of loan product
• Promoting the loan products
Based on the Bank Tabungan Negara 2008-2012 Corporate Planning, there are five main strategies formulated by the Management as follows:
• To give outstanding services in housing finance and its related industry, consumption loan, and Small and Medium enterprise
• Improving competitive advantage by product development innovation, services and strategic network based on ultimate technology.
• Develop a quality human capital, a professional and with high integrity
• Conducting banking management based on prudential banking principle and good Corporate Governance to improve shareholder value
• Corporate social responsibility for the rest of people and surrounding environment.
MOBILISATION OF RESOURCES
In order to support corporate operation and to achieve financial objective while still providing subsidized home loan for middle to lower income people, Bank Tabungan Negara continue to raise fund surplus and exploring all possibilities to mobilize low cost fresh fund resources as follows:
• Developing low cost retail product feature
Creating a new product feature can be very useful to preserve the customer retention. This is very important and become one factor to keep the customer loyalty.
• Low cost fund surplus
Low cost fund surplus is very important in order to keep the cost loan able fund low
• Emitting A new Obligation
New Obligation emission very useful to keep the corporate operation and financial leverage stays on its track, while the other type of retail product must be maintained carefully
• Corporate Privatization
Privatization is a way to leverage Bank Tabungan Negara its capability to disburse home loan and getting a fresh fund to support the corporate operation.
• Mortgage Securitization
Mortgage Securitization will provide a fresh fund through intensive assets turn over.
The Government as the subsidy provider for healthy and simple housing (RSH) also encourages all of Banking/Non Bank institution in Indonesia to serve RSH loan disbursement. The Government negotiates with The Central Bank to create incentive for banking institution who serves RSH loan disbursement for Middle to Lower Income Group.
PROCESS
Bank BTN corporate objection is to give outstanding services in housing finance and its related industry and also providing other products and banking services. In parallel, Bank BTN must support the Indonesian Government in National Housing Policy to Provide Subsidized Loan for Middle to lower Income people e.g. Gerakan Nasional Pembangunan Sejuta Rumah (Developing a million affordable house National Movement) and developing rental and owned low cost apartment. The Government Policy seems to be not successfully implemented because the national movement did not get fully supported by adequate national budget. Even Though Bank BTN keeps on trying to help the Indonesia Government by raising a new credit line for middle to lower income group.
Bank BTN had made some financial projection for five years to come in order to meets the needs for affordable housing. Bank BTN has initiate an option needs to be done in order to meets such need for affordable housing through Privatization and Mortgage Securitization. An Independent consultant also invited to do some study to review and to develop visible options for Bank BTN with regards to financial projection result. The privatization through Initial Public Offering right now is waiting for the government approval, meanwhile the mortgage securitization will be launched as soon as all supporting regulation clearly set up. Privatization and Mortgage Securitization will leverage Bank BTN financial capability to provide low cost fresh fund and will make the home loan disbursement through the Bank’s partner (Housing Developer) more affordable.
Another problem for Bank BTN to support the outlet expansion is limited amount of human resources. New employee need to be recruited to fill the position on a new outlet. This problem gradually alleviated, and the outlet opening launched as scheduled as soon as the Bank Indonesia granted the outlet opening licensed. Internal resources of low cost fresh fund are limited. To deal with this problem Bank BTN continue to improve its marketing campaign and creating a new product feature to preserve the customer loyalty.

The Government and the private sector should have to work together to create a conducive economic condition where as the low cost fresh fund mobilization will prevail intensively. The mortgage securitization will receive fresh fund if supporting regulation was set up already.
• Housing/property market should be deregulated by government to minimize the housing demand gap. The government should also give the incentive for subsidized home loan developer. Unnecessary regulations sometimes discourage developer to develop a housing project, and this situation will lead to higher price/unit of the house.
• A Great support for Bank Tabungan Negara for privatization to provide commercial and subsidized home loan. Indonesian House representative fully support the government and the Bank Tabungan Negara management policy to conduct the privatization via initial public offering. The higher amount loan would be disbursed the greater amount of middle to lower income people will be served.

Even though the lack of supply Affordable Housing still hard to meet the housing demands. All of support still needed to mobilize all resources to provide affordable housing for middle to lower income groups.
